o San Francisco-Based Chairish Lands $8 Million in New Funding Round

San Francisco -- Chairish, the San Francisco-based developer of a mobile app used to buy and sell vintage and pre-owned furniture, decor and art, said on Thursday it has raised $8 million in a new round of funding, led by Altos Ventures. Previous backers investors OATV and Azure Capital Partners also participated in the round, which will allow the company to expand its Chairish and DECASO brands, the latter of which focuses on modernism and antique dealers. It also plans to launch a new augmented reality feature in its iPhone and iPad apps, allowing buyers to visualize Chairish and DECASO items in their home. In conjunction with the new funding, co-founder Gregg Brockway has assumed the role of CEO for both brands. "The online market for furniture, decor and art is in the early stage of a long term growth trend as this huge industry migrates online," said Brockway. "With this new funding, our team will be able to quickly solve key challenges for our customers and designers, while simultaneously expanding the overall online market."
